The floating widget, which can be enabled directly from the website dashboard, includes a notification badge that highlights updates from the past seven days. When users click the badge, a sidebar drawer opens to reveal a list of recent updates. Clicking on any item allows users to read the full update instantly, ensuring important information is always just a tap away.

स्थापना

1. Automatic Installation (Recommended)

This is the easiest way to install the plugin:

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
  3. Search for UpdatePress in the search bar.
  4. Click Install Now next to the plugin.
  5. Once installed, click Activate.

2. Manual Installation via Admin Panel

  1. Download the plugin ZIP file from the WordPress Plugin Repository or another trusted source.
  2. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New and click Upload Plugin.
  3. Choose the downloaded ZIP file and click Install Now.
  4. After installation, click Activate Plugin.

3. Manual Installation via FTP

  1. Download and unzip the plugin package.
  2. Upload the unzipped updatepress folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory using an FTP client.
  3. Log in to your WordPress admin area and navigate to Plugins.
  4. Locate Update Press in the list and click Activate.

After Activation

  • Go to the UpdatePress settings menu in the WordPress dashboard.
  • Configure widget options, display settings, update behavior, and other features to suit your site.

UpdatePress pulls updates from a custom WordPress REST API endpoint (/wp-json/updatepress/v1/updates). You can modify this endpoint to fetch data from different sources.

Can I customize the sidebar layout?

No, But the later updates will come with this feature where the user can customize CSS structure, allowing to override styles using your theme’s CSS file.

Does Update Press support custom post types?

Yes, UpdatePress can be extended to fetch updates from custom post types by modifying the query inside the plugin.

Can I remove the company logo from the drawer footer?

No, at the moment, it is not possible to remove it, however, we are working on an updated version and users will be able to modify or hide it.
